Five flies, chosen for one place. The Backcountry Fly Set was built for the Ten Thousand Islands and the Everglades, a sprawling maze of mangrove keys, tidal creeks and oyster bars running off the Gulf coast of Southwest Florida, where fish hold tight to structure and the water changes character with every tide.
Between them these five cover all four species of the inshore slam: snook, redfish, spotted seatrout and tarpon. Natural tones for skinny water, high contrast for the tannic backwaters, and enough range to keep casting when conditions turn.
-
Backcountry Tan — redfish and snook. Earthy tones for shallow mud flats, oyster bars and clear tailing spots, mimicking local baitfish and glass minnows without spooking fish.
-
Black Flash Streamer — snook and tarpon. A dark silhouette with flash, built for tannic creeks and low light at dawn and dusk.
-
Swamp Fox Electric — snook and seatrout. Vibrant, high-contrast colour to provoke reaction strikes along mangrove overhangs and deep tidal drop-offs.
-
Forward Shrimp — redfish and seatrout. An epoxy-bodied shrimp pattern, deadly fished slowly along oyster edges, grass beds and shallow mud.
-
Marabou Toad — tarpon and snook. A classic pattern that lands soft and keeps moving on the slowest retrieve, for quiet back bays and channels.
Tied to work dense mangrove roots and abrasive oyster bars where inshore gamefish hide. Presented in a 6 by 9 black box.
